Marketing and Its Types

Marketing is a discipline and tool that companies use to spread information about products and services to potential consumers. The goal of such data distribution is to incite people to make a purchase. For this reason, marketing specialists try to provide potential clients with as much new information as possible. There are different approaches to doing it, according to which marketing is categorized in buzz, viral, and word-od-mouth types.

The word “buzz” means “conversation.” Just like any other type of marketing, this one is aimed at making a great number of people to talk about a product or service. To create this buzz, companies use different online platforms. In such a way, people share information and encourage friends to purchase. Moreover, different events are a tool of buzz marketing. They are organized to bring together the producers, who would like to sell something, and potential customers, who are highly likely to buy and tell others about the goods.

Viral marketing is another approach to ensure that customers engage other people in spreading information about a product or service. However, this information exchange takes place without obvious enticement on the part of sellers. Digital platforms are the most convenient means for the implementation of this strategy. Still, for it to be successful, it is not sufficient to create online presence. The content should comply with definite business goals and target audience.

A word-of-mouth strategy is an affordable approach that allows increasing profit and decreasing costs at the same time if applied correctly. The key to success in using this method it to ensure that clients are satisfied with a product or service. It is a cast-iron guarantee that a consumer will tell own friends and family about the pleasant experience and market the goods. If a contended customer uses Facebook or Twitter in order to share, the company will benefit greatly.

In conclusion, there are different types of marketing that are distinguished depending on the methods of distributing information about the goods. They are buzz, viral, and word-of-mouth marketing. Each of them can lead to the increased sales but only if used correctly. A company simply needs to determine which of the types is the most suitable for it.
