The commentary is that the painting depicts is of how the whole world would look like if everyone remains peaceful. The painting represents feelings at that time and the serenity that the whole world felt. The woman under the tree represents the nation of the world and the tree represents the protective measures taking care of the world.

Tamara used this painting to show how women were trying to assert themselves to the society by attempting to erase the sexual taboos that were common during that time.

The commentary is that of civilization. The girl has an elegant dress showing how modern ladies are expected to be like. The women, during this time, were smoking, drinking and even danced.

The painting was influenced by the rebirth the black people were experiencing during the 1920’s. During this period, many things in the black community experienced what can be described as a metamorphic and overall renewal in term of music and culture.

The commentary is that of the African American Community culture. The painting shows five African American women sitting around a table enjoying cocktails. This shows what this African American people were experiencing and how far they have come from since the end of the world war.

The painting was influenced by the suppression of women rights in society. In the 1920’s women had little rights and were being controlled by men or their husbands. Women were equally important to men and deserved their rights too.

The commentary being conveyed by the painting is that of fighting for the right of women in the society. In this painting, the woman is kneeling down holding a wrench. This infers that she is fixing it. Since, it was late 1920’s it was acceptable for the woman to perform such a duty.

The commentary is that of environmental pollution. The painting shows a rural farm in America during a bright and vibrant day in contrast to how the place has been polluted today.
