The basis of quality assessment is to conduct a periodic evaluation on performance in line with an organization’s objectives and according to the guidelines by the organization’s internal quality control and an external quality control body. However, the basics of quality assessment can be applied even from a personal perspective to improve productivity and to capitalize on strengths especially during a job interview. Quality assessment tools gives the opportunity of identifying the areas of weaknesses thereby ensuring that the challenges are eliminated or mitigated in time for future progressive development. The current job market is competitive and it is therefore imperative for individuals to periodically conduct quality assessments on their experiences in order to keep pace with the requirements of the target industry. Quality assessment involves the analysis of the data collected in order to identify areas of discontinuity or inefficiency. Therefore, data collection constitutes an important aspect of quality assessment. The data collected should be relevant for the particular analysis and should demonstrate high degree of accuracy.

Job Interview

In the collection of data the three most important considerations include: “the characteristics of the data collected, the perception of the user of the collected data and the attributes of the statistical processes. (European Commision , 2009) In preparation for a job interview, there are various details that will be important in ensuring that there is efficient preparation. Academic bakground and educational experience underscore the requirements because they provide guidance on the kind of position that will be sought. Although the general observation is that there is little adjustment that can be done on the acaemic background due to the tiem constraints, professional experience offers a perfect alternative towards preparation for a job interview. The quality assessment tool that will be utilized in this case is the SWOT analysis which gives the opportunity for one to identify their current position in terms of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.Table one describes a strategy that can be used for preparation for a job interview.

Table 1 provides a breakdown that indicates the general shortcoming and strengths in preparation for the job interview. The threats indicate that there should be a clear understanding of the various dynamics in operation within the company in order to place oneself at a position where the company will realize that the services offered will be particularly beneficial. The general realization when looking for employment is that there are many qualified people who have the relevant academic and professional experience for a particular position. However, it is also important to realize that each and every organization has unique requirements that they will seek to satisfy in addition to looking for the academic and professional experience. Therefore, the only way that one can establish the unique requirements is by conducting a background study on the company and on the particular position being offered. Strength are particularly important in such a situation because they give confidence to an individual they can undertake the responsibilities required. (Fine, 2010, 56) Strengths surpass much more than the academic and professional experience but constitute other aspects such as the motivational factor and how both the individual and the company will benefit from the cooperation. The strengths also help one to overcome and accept the weaknesses that cannot be changed. For instance, the academic background maybe an area of weaknesses that cannot be changed during the short time period of preparation and the professional experienced can function to substitute the lack of academic background. This is due to the realization that most organization are not usually interested in papers but are keen to establish whether a candidate can practically undertake the responsibility. In addition, the opportunities available can be used to reduce all eliminate all the threats. One of the threats realized from the table is the inability to manage crises effectively. A crisis management background can be conducted involving the company to establish the most probable human conflicts that may be experienced within the human resource. Such an initiative will assist in doing research on the most applicable crisis management strategies within such an environment. In most instances, academic background only offers guidelines on how to go about crisis management but does not actually provide solutions. Therefore, by conducting research one can strengthen their creativity and innovativeness towards the management of crisis.

It is always almost impossible for a person to be completely prepared for an interview. However, confidence contributes towards the attitude carried into the interview. Confidence can be nurtured by ensuring that as much relevant information is obtained from the organization so that the most probable questions that can be asked during the interview can be anticipated. Knowledge on the details of a particular organization and the position being offered also demonstrates interest on the part of the interviewee. All these aspects depend on efficient data collections methods and procedures.
